Two juggernauts of forward-thinking music have joined forces to debut a unique Australian music series which will kick off in Melbourne on Friday November 21st. "Chronicles" is a joint venture between Boiler Room TV and Red Bull Music Academy, two of the most reliable world-renowned institutions when it comes to genre-defying live music events. This very special Australian series will be aimed at showcasing some very fine home-grown talent and some of their closest musical influences, by allowing an act to curate a line up for an underground party in a classified location.

For the debut of "Chronicles" in Melbourne, the honour of curating the party goes to Grammy-nominated, polyrhythmic neo-soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote who have selected a handful of Australian and international acts, including the man who first gave them their big break, multi-talented American producer/DJ and Brainfeeder artist Taylor McFerrin.

Hiatus Kaiyote have been going from strength to strength ever since that string of awards in 2013, which incuded Best Breakthrough Artist and Gilles Peterson'sWorldwide Awards and a Grammy nomination for their collaboration with iconic emcee Q-Tip. This if of course in addition to nods from music royalty such as Prince, Pharrel Williams, Erykah Badu, Questlove, Common, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

In headlining the event, Taylor McFerrin - son of Bobby McFerrin - brings with him a multitude of talent stemming from his diverse work as a producer, composer, pianist, DJ, live musician, and beatboxer; a talent which has seen him open for artists like Erykah Badu, The Roots, Nas, Talib Kweli, and Robert Clasper, as well as playing major festivals like Glastonbury and Lollapooloza.

Also performing at "Chronicles" will be a mix of long time collaborators and friends of Hiatus Kaiyote, Clever Austin, and Silent Jay with Jace XL. Sets for the event have been created and designed exclusively by local artist Kirkis

The partnership with Boiler Room Australia is a natural one for Red Bull Music Academy, which has taken its series of music festivals and workshops to cities around the world over the last 15 years, with previous stops including Tokyo (current), NYC, Toronto, London, Madrid, Melbourne, and Cape Town. Further, the Academy has extended its curatorial touch to the online radio station, RBMA Radio, and to festival stages and signature events on every continent.

Evolving from the UK's rich pirate radio heritage, Boiler Room has grown from a webcam taped on a warehouse wall to become the definitive showcase of new music worldwide. In just four years, Boiler Room has weaved itself into the fabric of dance music culture, boasting an envious back catalogue of era-defining sets from the likes of Jamie XX, Thom Yorke, Nicolas Jaar, Skream & Disclosure (b2b) and ?uestlove, along with Australia’s own Chet Faker, Oscar Key Sung, Andras Fox and Fantastic Man.

Red Bull Music Academy x Boiler Room Chronicles events will be held in a secret location (chosen by the band) and are private, RSVP guestlist only affairs - RSVP HERE. A limited numbers of tickets will be given away via the RBMA Facebook Page closer to the event. Those not able to squeeze into one of the events can of course check out the live-stream on www.boilerroom.tv/chronicles.
